Can you get your hands on one of these?

Can you get your hands on one of these? Most of the groups use the Japanese fold Moleskine Pocket Sketchbook. The portrait groups don't require this book. You might try one of Moly's watercolor books, or larger regular notebooks, or even some other brand. I recommend moleskine. It is durable and consistent with most of the other artists' books, small, cool pocket for little surprises, gifts or collections. It is small so you won't have to spend a lot of energy to fill a page, 3.5"x5.5" roughly. Amazon.com, Moleskine.com, book supliers like Borders and Barnes and Noble carry them.

Start any time. Ready, Set, Go! I will recruit 3 more artists. Maybe you have a talented friend who would like to join us.

Portrait reference

In other groups, artists place photos of themselves on their Flickr sites. This works very well. Sometime we update them. If you don't want to share photos of yourself with the entire world, you can make accessible only to friends and make each of us a friend for the duration of the project. Nobody has done this yet, but video works really well. It is easy to pause and do a screen capture. I think this would work really well for artist that are more about gesture, or have a faster, rougher style.

Welcome! & patience.

Hi y'all. I'm working on gathering 15 or so talented artists. This may take a while. If you wish, you may start you first entry into your own book. The first entry is a self-portrait. Then, you will send it ti the next person on the list at the right. But wait a while to send your book, until we are closer to having the group filled. It is fun to use the Japanese fold Moleskine sketchbook for this project, but it is not so important for the portrait groups. The Japanese fold moly encourages interaction between artists. Again, for the portrait group that is not as important.

I encourage you to post questions and comments here for everyone to share. Thanks for joining us. These books will be outstanding and I know you will be rewarded.
